When we think of the rides in the Tuileries Gardens, images of thrill rides and the inevitable Ferris wheel immediately spring to mind. But away from all the hustle and bustle, there's a pretty merry-go-round where the music of childhood rhymes can be heard. The golden carriages and their horses are sure to delight the little ones.
The ephemeral merry-go-round at City Hall
It's one of the capital's most beautiful rides, and one that amazes both the old and the young. Built over two floors, it features wooden horses, small cars and large carriages. Please note, however, that it's not open all year round!

The Garnier merry-go-round in the Jardin du Luxembourg
Built in 1879 to match Paris Opera architect Charles Garnier's style, this is the oldest riding arena in Paris. Located in the heart of the Jardin du Luxembourg, its wooden horses and slow-moving rotation take us back in time. A delightful treat for the little ones: armed with a stick, they get to collect rings at every turn. It's all about the joy of showcasing their agility and parading with pride!

The 1913 Eiffel Tower merry-go-round
A genuine attraction installed in 1913 just a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower, this merry-go-round turns on a human-powered crank, making it 100% environmentally friendly. You can't help but admire the fine detail of the original wooden horses, sculpted by the famous Limonaire brothers.

Step through the gates of the Pavillons de Bercy into the unusual Musée des Arts Forains. Here you can discover the velocipede merry-go-round. Manufactured in 1897, it was a real thrill ride at the time, with a record speed of 60 km/h. A must-try during your visit to the museum!
