Social residences with Hénéo

For students with social grants who do not meet the CROUS conditions for housing, there is an alternative: the social residences on rue Gandon and boulevard Vincent-Auriol in the 13th arrondissement.
Neither university halls of residence nor HLM, they offer accommodation for students: rooms for single people; F1 and F2 apartments, for couples (with or without children), for single mothers or siblings. The allocation of accommodation is decided by a commission.

Home automation accommodation in the heart of Paris

The program, located in the Montparnasse district (Paris 6th arrondissement), comprises eight units of this type, all managed by Hénéo. They provide a solution for students requiring home automation and adjustable furniture height, enabling them to move closer to their higher education establishment, or move away from the family environment.

The residence

The building was acquired by the City of Paris for a social housing project. The City entrusted the building to RIVP and its subsidiary Hénéo to build a residence comprising:
  • 71 housing units for young professionals;
  • 36 student apartments, including 8 for disabled students requiring home automation.

Accommodation

All these homes are accessible to disabled people and those with reduced mobility.
The 36 student apartments include eight home-controlled studios on the mezzanine floor, ranging in size from 23 m² to 36 m². Located in a young living environment, accessible and adapted to their needs, these apartments have been specially designed and equipped to cope with severe motor disabilities. They make it easy to get around, thus promoting independence at home and enabling students with disabilities to live close to schools and universities.
All studios are fully equipped with furniture, fridge and kitchenette. If the student requires a medical bed, it is the student's responsibility to purchase one.
A remote control is used to open doors in the entrance hall and operate the elevator. In the home, the same remote control is used to open the door and operate the lighting. All equipment is accessible: walk-in shower, shower seat, height-adjustable sink and washbasin, grab rails in the shower area and WC.

Intergenerational cohabitation

Many retired Parisians live alone and have one or more rooms available in their apartments. At the same time, many young people, students, interns and young workers are looking for affordable accommodation in Paris.
With this in mind, 3 Parisian associations are offering to put young people looking for accommodation in touch with senior citizens looking for companionship and/or additional income.
Depending on the chosen formula, cohabitation involves the free provision of a furnished room in exchange for the young person's regular presence in the evening, at night and at certain weekends, or the provision of a furnished room in exchange for an occupancy fee.
