60,000 parking spaces on Paris streets

There are over 60,000 surface parking spaces.
Locations were chosen in front of public buildings, in attractive neighborhoods, at intermodal hubs and in front of crosswalks.
Please note: cargo bikes can be parked in the paid parking lane on an unregulated basis (free of charge).
The city is also experimenting with sites equipped for cargo bikes on the boulevards de Strasbourg and de Sébastopol. Depending on feedback from users, they may subsequently be deployed throughout Paris.

Secure offers throughout Paris

Several secure parking facilities have been set up for bicycles: bike shelters, bike stations, dedicated spaces in underground parking lots and Véligo lockers near stations.
Discover them on the map below:

Each shelter can accommodate 6 bicycles in numbered, allocated spaces, and features an air pump accessible from outside the shelter.

Shelter features

  • Open to mechanical bikes, electric bikes and bikes with baby-carrier seats
  • Air pump available outside the locker, accessible to all
  • Access: by smartphone key (via app) or badge

Secure parking facilities at stations (Île-de-France Mobilités bicycle parking facilities)

Un utilisateur accroche son vélo dans le nouveau parking à vélo sécurisé de 1200 places qui a vu le jour à Gare du Nord.
In partnership with SNCF, RATP and Ile de France Mobilités, secure lockers have been installed in Paris stations.
They are accessible free of charge with a valid annual Navigo subscription (Navigo, Navigo Senior, Imagine R scolaire, Imagine R étudiant).
At the following rates for other users :
  • daily: 2€
  • monthly: 10€
  • annual: 30€
There are several in Paris intra-muros (Gare Montparnasse, Gare Saint-Lazare, Gare de l'Est, etc.). The development of other lockers is underway: the largest secure bicycle parking facility in Ile-de-France opened on June 25, 2024 at Gare du Nord station, with 1,186 secure spaces.

Parking spaces

Many underground parking lots offer dedicated bicycle parking spaces.
These spaces are guarded and secure. Rates are attractive (around €10 per month).
To find out which car parks offer this type of service, consult the map below and click on the yellow pictograms.
N.B.: the rates shown on this map are indicative only and are updated quarterly. They do not take precedence over the rates displayed at parking lot entrances. Only City of Paris parking lots are shown.

Bicycle storage facilities in condominiums

Residential buildings with a parking lot reserved for occupants, as well as offices built since 2012, are required to provide a secure parking area for bicycles (Grenelle II law).
For other buildings, the City of Paris offers a subsidy for the installation or fitting out of secure premises.

Finding your missing bike

Have you parked your bike in an unprotected space and can't find it?
  • If you suspect that your bike has been removed as part of roadworks (and only in this case), you can contact the Section Territoriale de Voirie (STV). They will be able to tell you which company is carrying out the work and may have moved or collected your bike.
  • Your bike has been removed because it has been left in the same place for too long, it has been considered a wreck and its owner has not been identified. Bicycle wrecks that have been removed are disposed of at a landfill site and cannot be reclaimed.
  • Your bike may have been removed by the police as part of an event or demonstration (e.g. a visit by a head of state), in which case it's at a Paris police station.
  • If you suspect your bike has been stolen, you can lodge a complaint with the police. If you have attached your bike to a metro entrance gate, you should contact RATP.
To combat theft, but also in the event of loss or removal, marking has been mandatory since January 1st, 2021, for both new and used bikes.
If your bike is not yet registered, you can have it marked with a Bicycode.
