Every year, the City of Paris' Parcours Linguistiques à Visée Professionnelle (PLVP) training program offers courses that combine learning the French language with steps required for professional integration in France.
Professional Language Courses

The proposed initiatives form an intermediary segment between the ASL (Socio-linguistic Workshops) and the qualifying or certifying training schemes run by the City of Paris, the Île-de-France Region, the State and the OPCOs. They are implemented by associations and structures subsidized by the City of Paris via a call for projects.
They are part of a program designed to :

increase proficiency in the French language and basic skills;

increase understanding of the professional world in France, the skills expected and the job market;

knowledge of and contact with public and voluntary employment service providers;

acquisition of job search techniques and tools;

introduce people to digitalisation;
-
work on career plans and individual support towards a subsequent career path in sustainable employment or in mainstream training and integration schemes, in particular those set up by the City of Paris, the State, OPCOs or the Île-de-France Region;

improve learner autonomy and overall well-being.
In some cases, it may also involve training to improve mastery of the French language, contextualized to a specific sector (e.g. hotel and catering, construction, cleaning, mediation and interpreting, fashion and sewing).

For whom?
These courses are mainly aimed at Parisians looking for work, on integration contracts and/or precarious employment contracts, living primarily in working-class neighborhoods, and who are experiencing difficulties in finding employment due to their poor command of French.
When?
Actions take place all year round (more rarely in August), with registrations often taking place in September and January.
How do I register for a PLVP training course?
Registrations can be made directly with the training organizations and associations listed in the Parcours Linguistiques à Visée Professionnelle catalog. These courses are also listed on the Réseau Alpha and Oriane.info websites.
