While the star of Square René-Viviani is undoubtedly the oldest tree in Paris, a robinia planted in 1601, the site near Notre-Dame (Paris Centre) also features some magnificent flowering trees. A true haven of peace, the Jardin des Plantes features one of the most remarkable specimens of Japanese cherry tree. Standing 4 meters tall and spanning over 15 meters wide, it impresses not only with its size but also with its spreading form and horizontal branches.
